Over the course of your stay you will see many of the city’s beautiful sights from the old town, into the surrounding hills. You will learn about Sarajevo's long and rich history including its moment of glory hosting the Winter Olympics in 1984 and the unfortunate events of the early 90's Yugoslav war. Let us know when you will be arriving at the airport or main bus station and we will arrange for you to be collected and taken to the hotel to check in.
Day 1 - City Walking & Food Tour with local guide (Morning/Early Afternoon)
Upon meeting with your guide, you will set off for a tour around the city including stops at the old quarter Bascarsija, the City Hall, the "Assassination Spot" (where Franz Ferdinand was killed, triggering WW1), and many of Sarajevo's important religious buildings which reflect the city's diversity. The tour will also give you an insight into the food culture with a brunch of traditional dishes and most importantly, Bosnian coffee! Free afternoon and evening for you to explore the town at your own leisure or arrange an additional activity.
Day 2 - Sarajevo Siege & Winter Olympic History Tour with local guide (Morning)
Two important events left a poignant imprint on the history of the city - the 1984 Winter Olympics hosted by the city and the War in the 1990s. Including stops at the Tunnel of Hope, Sniper's Alley, the Romeo & Juliet bridge, the old Bobsled track and Zetra Olympic Hall, this driven tour will give you an important lesson about Sarajevo's turbulent history. Free afternoon and evening for you to explore the town at your own leisure or arrange an additional activity.
After your final breakfast in Sarajevo and checking out of the hotel, we will arrange your transfer to the airport or the main bus station for your onward journey.
